VANASUMA is a Kannada field guide and educational book that showcases the rich diversity of wild flowering trees in and around Bannerghatta National Park. The book features high-quality photographs and detailed descriptions, serving as both a botanical reference and a tool to inspire environmental awareness. Aimed primarily at school and college students, VANASUMA is part of a larger initiative that includes tree walks and awareness programs designed to instill curiosity, compassion, and responsibility toward trees and nature. By presenting this knowledge in Kannada—the local language—the project seeks to make learning more relatable and impactful. The initiative aims to reach over 2,000 students from approximately 150 government schools and colleges, with copies of the book distributed to educational institutions, public libraries.
